How to set up a brand

A brand is the identity Marshi and the work build on. You create it from Projects. Assisted setup is the path with a website or a document.

  1. Open Projects. In the dock, open Projects. Choose New project, or Create a brand when that is the label on an empty workspace.
  2. Name the brand. On Create brand, enter Brand name and choose Continue. The intro says this creates a brand — the identity Marshi and everything you make here build on.
  3. Choose Assisted setup. On How do you want to get started?, choose Assisted setup. It is marked Recommended. Manual setup and Fast draft are the other two choices. Then choose Continue.
  4. Add a source. On Tell Marshi about your brand, you can add a website and choose Let Marshi scan the website, upload a Brand document, or both. A personal profile says Tell Marshi about you and can take a CV instead of a brand document. If a GitHub repository panel is on this screen, you can connect a repository here.
  5. Answer and review. Marshi asks in the conversation. You can Skip a question or choose You decide. When the draft is ready, choose Review & finish, check Core and Messaging, then Create and start.
  6. Edit later in Foundation. Open the project, then the Brand room (Me on a personal profile), then Foundation. The areas are Core, Audience & position, Messaging, and Visual.

Common questions

What is the difference between Assisted setup, Manual setup, and Fast draft?

Assisted setup walks through source, questions, and a review, then Create and start. Manual setup can create the brand from a name and an optional website with Create and open Brand Profile. Fast draft fills a short foundation and ends on Create and continue. Assisted setup is the recommended path.

Where do I change the brand after it exists?

Open Foundation. You can also ask in Chat. Marshi shows Ready to update the brand and waits for Apply. The fields are not saved before that.
