How to use the CV builder

The CV builder on the public site makes an application letter and a CV for one job. It is separate from the CV inside a personal profile.

  1. Open the CV builder. From the public site, open Tools, then CV builder. The heading is CV and application letter for one job. The same page is also linked as CV builder in the footer.
  2. Add the CV and the job. Choose Upload a CV or Paste text. The file label is PDF, Word or text. The paste label is Text from the CV or the profile. Under Job ad, paste the ad, or its link. Choose Make the application. While it runs, the button reads Writing …. You get the Application letter and the CV. Download saves them.
  3. LinkedIn needs an account. LinkedIn profile stays on the page. A guest sees: Log in or create a free account to import from LinkedIn. The buttons are Log in and Create a free account. There is no payment that opens LinkedIn.
  4. After three applications. A guest can make three applications from this browser. The page says how many are left. After the third, the heading is Create a free account to keep going, and the line is: You have used the three applications. Create a free account to keep going. Experience and education goes to /continue/cv, which opens that section on a personal profile.
  5. Already signed in. If you are signed in, the free form is not shown. The heading is Make the application in your workspace. Open the application writer goes to /continue/application, which opens the job application on your personal profile. That writer uses your living profile. A free account includes 3 applications a month. On Pro and above, each application counts toward monthly usage. It does not use a free guest application.
